Introduction
RenewEd Ltd is a UK coaching practice founded by Claudia Cubbage, a former headteacher, headteacher coach, career change coach and author of The RenewEd book series.
RenewEd Ltd was established following more than three decades of Claudia’s work in education, leadership and personal development. The practice brings together her experience as a school leader, coach and athlete, offering a thoughtful space for professionals and school leaders to reflect on the direction of their work and the impact they want to have.
Our Journey
RenewEd was born from lived experience. After nearly a decade as a secondary headteacher in a challenging area, Claudia reached a point where she’d given everything to the school and there was nothing left. She was navigating impossible government expectations, shrinking funding, growing SEND demands, and recruitment challenges that meant more and more responsibility fell on her shoulders.
Claudia left headship in April 2024 because the pattern had become unsustainable: every step forward was being undone by systemic constraints beyond her control. She needed time to recover and rebuild, and that’s when RenewEd was born.
Now Claudia helps headteachers see what she eventually saw: that there are options. Some stay and find ways to lead sustainably. Some leave strategically. But coaching gives you the external perspective and strategic space to make that decision clearly, rather than being forced into it by crisis or burnout.
RenewEd also supports professionals across sectors who are ready for career change but can’t see how their skills translate beyond where they are now.
The name says it all: RenewEd. Renewal for those who need to find a sustainable path forward
Meet Claudia
Claudia Cubbage is a former secondary headteacher, international athlete and certified health and wellbeing coach with over 30 years of professional experience. Her career has been shaped by working in environments where resilience, sustained performance and clear thinking are essential.
Having spent nearly a decade leading a secondary school, Claudia gained first hand experience of the responsibility and complexity that leadership brings. Her interest in coaching developed from a desire to create space for leaders and professionals to think more clearly about the challenges they face and the decisions ahead of them.
Alongside her work with school leaders, Claudia also works with professionals from a wide range of sectors who are considering a change in direction. Her coaching supports individuals to understand how their experience and skills can translate into new opportunities and roles.

RenewEd Career is a structured approach to how career change coaching can support professionals who want to think clearly, act deliberately, and move forward with confidence. The book explores why career dissatisfaction develops, how to identify and articulate transferable skills, and how to navigate career transition without losing income or professional identity.
Both books reflect the dual focus of Claudia’s coaching practice: helping education leaders find sustainable paths, and helping professionals translate their experience into new opportunities.
Claudia continues to work in education as a current NPQ Assessor, assessing National Professional Qualifications for school leaders. This keeps her deeply connected to the current education leadership landscape and the real pressures headteachers face today: not what leadership looked like five years ago, but what’s being demanded right now.
She is also a Brainz Magazine Executive Contributor, where she writes about leadership, career change, and professional renewal.
